HAMILTON GARDENS - put this on your New Zealand itinerary. Truly, it is not to be missed and can rival any international garden. Beautifully kept, we saw it during this past wintry week and it was still divine.
It’s recommended to see it in spring/summer, but really, we loved it as it was now.
NB: these gardens have been free to visit but as of 18 September there will be an NZ$20 charge (to non-Hamilton ratepayers) - and rightly so. The maintenance of these 18 fabulous gardens is intense.
